About Me
Hello there. I am Mrs. VanAkin. I teach art for students in grades kindergarten through 8th grade for Panama Central School. I grew up in the Chautauqua Lake area and now live in Busti. I have two young children. Paxton is almost 2 and Lola who is 5 and started Kindergarten this year at Panama. I have my bachelor's degree from Alfred University in Fine Arts and Education and my masters from Grand Canyon University in Special Education.
In addition to teaching I enjoy working on my own artwork. I enjoy working on paintings, drawings and photography. One of my favorite things is to make a drawing or painting based on a photograph some something or somone that I have taken.
I am really excited to continue working with children and helping them find their own artistic voices as they grow.
